Working as a Mechanic with Krise Transportation, you will be recognized as a critical member of the team that forms the essential link between students and schools. Schedule 6:30am-5:00pm (1 hr. lunch), Monday-Friday, weekends for emergencies, OT-eligible through the school year Competitive base pay $23 + an hour. Yearly tool allowance   Yearly boot allowance   Paid vacation and time off Medical Benefits w/ Company cost share (Day 1 eligible) Company paid Life Insurance ($15,000) & Employee Assistance Plan (Day 1 eligible) Dental and Vision plans available on a voluntary basis (Day 1 eligible) Job Duties: Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid level checks. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and computer software. Repair and replace faulty components such as valves, pistons, bearings, and injectors. Perform engine tune-ups to improve performance and efficiency. Carry out scheduled and unscheduled repairs, ensuring minimal downtime for our fleet. Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed. Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to prioritize and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. Comply with all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Other Duties as assigned. How Do I Start? What is Required? Must have your own basic hand tools (Company provides major equipment such as diagnostic scan tools) You must have or be willing to get a Class 7 PA Inspection License You must have (or we will provide you free training to get): Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brake Endorsements. Must have and maintain the following to be able to drive a school van or bus: A satisfactory driving history based on review of state motor vehicle records. A satisfactory criminal history and child abuse history checks as required by law and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Passing an initial and routine annual school bus driver physical w/ tuberculosis testing as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Participate in and pass pre-employment and on-going random drug and alcohol testing throughout employment.
