Job Description

Job Summary

The Staff Physical Therapist provides direct patient care, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of physical therapy interventions to children with a variety of musculoskeletal, neurological, and developmental conditions. This role focuses on optimizing function, promoting independence, and enhancing the quality of life for pediatric patients within a specialized hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Upon receiving a licensed independent practitioner referral, implements a systematic patient examination and evaluation utilizing comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care

  • Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the patient and their family.

  • Makes appropriate discharge plans by collaborating with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team.

  • Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as mentoring and providing education to students and other professionals.

  • Supports risk management and compliance initiatives through accurate, thorough documentation.



Required Qualifications

  • Education necessary to obtain License in State of Practice

  • Massachusetts PT license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-year physical therapy experience; will consider new grads

  • Pediatric experience


Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
