Responsibilities

As a聽Fiber Splicer, you聽are responsible for producing聽end-to-end fiber optic networks.聽You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you鈥檙e up for the challenge.聽

In addition, you will:

  • Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks
  • Operate all testing equipment and be adept at the resolution of challenges common to fiber optic networks
  • Experience prepping fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco,聽CommScope, Corning, etc.
  • Utilize a fusion splicer, test equipment, OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter聽
  • Fiber engineer knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, understanding of light levels, and dB loss
  • Work in outdoor utility construction sites

Qualifications

  • You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
  • You are looking for long-term projects
  • You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team
  • You have at least 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience聽
  • You are comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck聽
  • You are flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts with overtime聽
  • Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems and mechanical principles
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities聽

MOS Codes V80B, B05A, 3D157, 6423, 5699 relate well to this position.

Compensation of $25-$34 per hour.
