Job Summary

St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic School is seeking a dependable, caring, and energetic Extended Care Aide to assist in providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for students enrolled in the school's before- and after-school care program. The Extended Care Aide supports student supervision, facilitates activities, and helps ensure the well-being of all children while promoting the mission and values of Catholic education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise students participating in the Extended Care Program.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for all students.
  • Assist with planning and facilitating age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
  • Monitor student behavior and reinforce program and school expectations.
  • Assist students with homework and independent learning activities as needed.
  • Ensure accurate student sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed.
  • Communicate professionally with parents, faculty, and staff regarding student needs and concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces and materials.
  • Respond appropriately to student health, safety, and behavioral needs.
  • Support and uphold the mission, values, and Catholic identity of the school.
  • Follow all school policies regarding student safety, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and engage groups of children.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school personnel.
  • Demonstrated reliability, patience, and professionalism.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and actively supervise students throughout the program.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting.
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Familiarity with and support for the mission of Catholic education.
