Job Summary

St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic School is seeking a dependable, caring, and energetic Extended Care Aide to assist in providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for students enrolled in the school's before- and after-school care program. The Extended Care Aide supports student supervision, facilitates activities, and helps ensure the well-being of all children while promoting the mission and values of Catholic education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise students participating in the Extended Care Program.
Maintain a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for all students.
Assist with planning and facilitating age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
Monitor student behavior and reinforce program and school expectations.
Assist students with homework and independent learning activities as needed.
Ensure accurate student sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed.
Communicate professionally with parents, faculty, and staff regarding student needs and concerns.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces and materials.
Respond appropriately to student health, safety, and behavioral needs.
Support and uphold the mission, values, and Catholic identity of the school.
Follow all school policies regarding student safety, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to effectively supervise and engage groups of children.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school personnel.
Demonstrated reliability, patience, and professionalism.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and actively supervise students throughout the program.

Preferred

Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting.
CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Familiarity with and support for the mission of Catholic education.
