Job Summary

The Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) Supervisor leads a multi-site team responsible for environmental compliance, occupational safety, life safety, and health programs supporting NGA operations. This position manages the NGA Safety Training Program, oversees contract compliance for assigned areas, and ensures 100% compliance with fire extinguisher and safety equipment inspection and maintenance requirements. The supervisor drives a proactive safety culture through training, audits, inspections, incident prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Duties

  • Lead and supervise a multi-site team of ESOH Coordinators, ensuring effective execution of environmental, safety, occupational health, life safety, and fire prevention programs while meeting all contract requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational objectives.
  • Manage the NGA Safety Training Program, including training needs assessments, curriculum development, instructor-led training delivery, compliance tracking, qualification management, and maintenance of audit-ready training records.
  • Oversee contract compliance for assigned functional areas, ensuring all Performance Work Statement (PWS), Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP), customer-directed requirements, and regulatory obligations are consistently met.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with required inspections, testing, maintenance, and documentation of fire extinguishers, life safety systems, and safety-related equipment, including tracking and reporting deficiencies through corrective action to closure.
  • Direct inspections, audits, inventories, and quality assurance activities to identify hazards, verify compliance, evaluate program effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Deliver and facilitate safety training, orientations, emergency preparedness exercises, toolbox talks, and safety briefings for employees, supervisors, and subcontractors.
  • Review and approve safety documentation, including inspection reports, training records, permits, incident investigations, corrective actions, and compliance reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct compliance audits and workplace assessments to verify adherence to OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NGA, contract and organizational requirements and ensure timely resolution of findings.
  • Lead and oversee incident, injury, near-miss, and environmental event investigations; conduct root cause analyses; implement corrective and preventive actions; and develop, manage, and maintain a comprehensive near-miss reporting and trending program to identify emerging risks, monitor performance trends, and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop ESOH Coordinators, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

 

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health and Safety, Safety Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus equivalent combination of relevant ESOH education, professional certifications, and experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in environmental, safety, occupational health, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry required.
  • One or more of the following certifications is preferred:

1. Associate Safety Professional (ASP)

2.  Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

3. Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)

4. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CI

5. Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)

6. Fire Inspector or Fire Protection certifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI government security clearance with polygraph is required.
