Manager, Supply Chain

Manage activities related to strategic purchasing, material requirements planning, controlling inventory, warehousing, or receiving. Accountable for the management, strategy, integration, planning, and execution of material, labor and services to support North Wind’s commercial and USG programs. Coordinates cross-functionally to ensure that all supply chain commitments are met, and that appropriate integrated mitigation or opportunity plans are developed and executed to address any organizational or programmatic risks and opportunities related to procurement supply chain consistent with North Wind quality, policy and performance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops supply chain strategy and leads activities for all phases of the Business Acquisition Process. Ensures that prior to program or project execution, all elements of the proposed supply chain program(s) plans have completed, integrated, and accurate schedules, budgets, and procurement operation strategies.
  • Leads supply chain execution and is accountable for horizontal and vertical integration, resource planning, material cost, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity and issue management, supplier performance, and resolution.
  • Briefs program management on the status and issues affecting Program cost, driving Program risks and opportunities and schedule. Aligns project scope and deliverables with customer requirements and works closely with the technical community.
  • Manage shipping and receiving as necessary. Assist with the management and facilitation of relationships with shipping providers. Oversee freight expenditures.
  • Leads Supply Chain Program execution for: Resource planning, Proposal Activity, Material cost, Forecasting, Schedule performance, Risk/opportunity management, Supplier performance, and Supply chain issue resolution

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors in Business or Supply Chain discipline
  • 7+ years experience in materials management in an aerospace organization or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability: 

  • Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong communication skills and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently in a project-oriented environment with high attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Previous experience working on sustainment programs/projects
  • Previous experience leading large customer efforts
  • Previous experience interfacing and briefing external customers
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS
  • Familiar with SAP
