Assist Operator

Description

Assist with the setup and operation of a production line to ensure products are made safely and meet quality and customer requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment and monitor the production line.
• Perform quality checks and make minor process adjustments as needed.
• Assist with starting up equipment and performing basic preventive maintenance.
• Inspect fiber and finished products for quality.
• Offload, weigh, wrap, label, and package finished products.
• Remove production waste and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production requirements.
• Properly handle and track raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products.
• Assist with training new employees.
• Report safety or equipment concerns to the Shift Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Basic math skills and ability to read production charts.
• Basic computer skills and ability to enter production information.
• Ability to follow written instructions and work as part of a team.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Work environment may include moderate to excessive noise, heat, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, and moving equipment.
• Must be able to work safely around production machinery.
