About Rodeo Cannabis Co.
Rodeo Cannabis Co. is a Connecticut-born, Social Equity-licensed, vertically integrated cannabis company. Our Sterling manufacturing facility is where our products are made, packaged, and prepared for market, and this role is based there. We started as a single-site startup and now have more than 60 team members. We're still building, and the people who join now help shape what we become.
About the Role
The Cannabis Branding Agent owns the approval process for every new product made at our Sterling facility. You'll make sure each brand name, label, and package meets Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) requirements and gets approved before it goes to market. You'll be the link between production, packaging, design, and compliance, keeping launches on schedule and in full compliance.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and submit brand name registrations and product label/packaging approvals to the Connecticut DCP for all new products from the Sterling facility
- Review labels, packaging, and marketing copy against state regulations before submission, including required warnings, potency and testing information, and restrictions on content that appeals to youth
- Track every submission from start to approval, follow up with regulators, and resolve any deficiencies or rejections quickly
- Keep a master log of approved brands, labels, and packaging so production always uses current, approved versions
- Work with production, packaging, and design teams early in product development to flag compliance issues before they cause delays
- Coordinate with the lab and production team to make sure label claims match final testing results
- Monitor changes to Connecticut cannabis regulations and update internal procedures and templates as rules change
- Maintain organized, audit-ready records of all submissions, approvals, and correspondence
- Report regularly to leadership on approval status, timelines, and any risks to product launches
What You'll Bring
- A high school diploma or GED required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail; you catch the small errors others miss
- Strong organization and the ability to manage many submissions and deadlines at once
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication, including with state regulators
- Comfort reading and applying regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Connecticut DCP cannabis employee registration
Even Better If You Have
- 2+ years of experience in cannabis compliance, regulatory affairs, or product labeling
- Experience with Connecticut DCP cannabis regulations and submission processes
- Background in a regulated consumer products industry (food, pharmaceutical, alcohol, or supplements)
- Familiarity with label design tools such as Adobe Illustrator or Canva
- Experience with seed-to-sale tracking systems
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Mix of office work and time on the production floor reviewing products and packaging
- Extended periods of computer work
- Exposure to strong cannabis odors and production equipment noise when on the floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
- Wear required PPE in production areas, such as gloves, hair nets, and non-slip shoes
What We Offer
- Paid time off
- Health / dental / vision
- 401(k)
- Employee product discount
- A chance to shape how a growing company brings new products to market
