Description

Mabbett & Associates, Inc. (Mabbett®), an award-winning and leading environmental, health and safety consulting, and engineering firm servicing federal, state and local agencies, and private commercial, institutional and industrial clients nationally. We are seeking a full-time, experienced Project Geologist/Environmental Scientist to support the firm’s growing Site Assessment and Remediation (SAR) practice. This position will implement projects ranging from initial Phase I environmental site assessments through remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remediation system design, installation, system operation, and long-term maintenance and monitoring. 



Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or Environmental Sciences. 
  • 5 years of progressive experience in site assessment and remediation working under the      provisions of CERCLA, RCRA, or state regulatory programs.
  • Experience collaborating and working with subcontractors, including environmental laboratories, drillers, surveyors, and geophysical firms.
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, strong professional writing, interpersonal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to support multiple projects and tasks while working under tight deadlines.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and 8-hour Refresher Certifications required; OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour construction safety training is a plus.
  • Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification required. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office® Suite; GIS and/or AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel, work in the field/outdoors, as well as lift and carry items weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain, as a minimum, OMB Position of Public Trust and Federal Protective Services Favorable designations (pass a federal background check). Other clearance requirements for access to federal facilities may be necessary and will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
