Most salespeople sell products. You will sell a memory. School classes, tour buses, church groups and company outings ride Strasburg Rail Road through Lancaster County farmland every year. Your job: fill those coaches, then make every group's day go off without a hitch.

The Role at a Glance

• What you sell: Group trips on America's oldest operating short-line railroad
• Who you sell to: Tour operators, schools, senior centers, churches, clubs and corporate planners
• Where you work: Our Strasburg, PA station, plus regional trade shows and partner events
• When you work: Full-time, year-round, including some weekends and holidays
• What you need: 2+ years in sales, tourism, hospitality, events or reservations

What Your Days Look Like

• Hunt. Prospect new groups with calls, emails and lead follow-up, and win back past customers.
• Close. Turn inquiries into bookings with proposals, quotes, confirmations, deposits and invoices.
• Connect. Build relationships that bring groups back year after year.
• Orchestrate. Plan group itineraries and brief our station, food service and retail teams so every visit runs smoothly.
• Travel. Represent the railroad at tourism trade shows, partner meetings and familiarization tours.
• Lead. Run the station on the Station Manager's days off.
• Measure. Track bookings and revenue against monthly and quarterly goals in our CRM.

You Are On Track If You

• Love the thrill of turning a "maybe" into a booked bus
• Have 2+ years in sales, group sales, tourism, hospitality, event booking or reservations
• Have used a CRM, reservation system or booking software
• Can juggle dozens of groups, deadlines and details without dropping one
• Write a sharp email and sound great on the phone
• Work independently and own your numbers
• Hold a valid driver's license and can work some weekends, holidays and regional trips

Life at the Station

The job mixes office, station and outdoor work, with seasonal weather, train noise and busy peak seasons. Expect frequent computer and phone work, occasional lifting of trade show materials, and extended standing or walking during station coverage.
