Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Accountant I is to reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts and to prepare month-end close procedures. A successful Accountant I has analytical skills to help conduct analysis on various general ledger accounts and handle general accounting and financial processes. The individual should be willing to help develop and integrate new processes and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Key balance sheet reconciliations
  • Book journal entries in relation to revenue recognition and assigned account reconciliations as well as entries that are handed down by the Accounting Manager and Director of Finance
  • Compile and distribute the A/R and A/P Analysis weekly.
  • Analyze marketing and freight spend monthly.
  • Reconcile intercompany A/P and A/R monthly.
  • Conduct wire payment analysis and initiate wire payments to domestic and foreign vendors.
  • Provide backup and support to A/P Specialist
  • Support annual C-Sox and year end audit.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Accounting Manager and Director of Finance

Qualifications:

  • Problem solver and the ability to logically troubleshoot.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, clear customer support and through use of telephone and email.
  • Proficient in all MS Office Suite applications, with emphasis on Excel.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, or related field
  • 0-3 years of accounting experience.
  • Excel and Microsoft Suite knowledge.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field
  • Data Entry
  • General ledger familiarity

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a typical office or shop environment; occasionally exposed to noise, dust, and chemicals.
  • Safety glasses/goggles must be always worn while in the shop or yard.
