Summary:
This position produces high-frequency waves (two-dimensional) ultrasonic recordings of circulatory system use by physicians in diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of the circulatory system. This level III also includes any Float Ultrasound Technologist that provides coverage for positions that are out due to illness or paid time off.
EssentialDutiesandResponsibilities:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Explains process to patient, and instructs and assists patient in assuming physical position for examination.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Verifies that the prescription matches the procedure that is going to be performed; make changes in the billing code/exam title as needed. Record all signs and symptoms for the exam.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Selects equipment for use in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examination.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to organs or circulatory system to be examined, depth of field, and other specifications of test.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Keys exam data and patient information into computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain record of exam results.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Moves transducer, by hand, over specified area of body and observes sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Operates equipment to produce images of internal organs and records diagnostic data in PAC system. This provides permanent record of examination.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Make sure to present any prior studies along with current studies to radiologist for diagnostic assessment.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Stock/Order supplies, make patient reminder calls, check ultrasound machine daily for any problems, and any other duties that may be assigned to you daily.

Required Qualifications / Education / Experience:
聽
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 High school diploma or equivalent.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Must have two or more registries including Vascular (RVT) through the ARDMS (RDMS).
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Current CPR certification.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Minimum of one year of experience in a clinic or hospital setting
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of ultrasound procedures and protocols.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of customer service concepts and clinic policies including safety, privacy and HIPAA regulations
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of quality care standards for ultrasound.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of operating computer and accessing applicable RIS/PACS programs.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Skill in production of sonograms meeting physician expectations.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Skill in using computer network system competently to process patient and department information.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Skill in performing quality exams and exercising compassion with patients.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Skill in completing job in a timely manner.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the phone to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians and other staff.
