POSITION SUMMARY

Provide engineering and production support to machining and secondary operations by developing and maintaining robust processes while striving to achieve lowest cost and highest quality production methods. Ensure that customer specified quality levels are met or exceeded. Support launch of new products through APQP launch process as needed.聽


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Launch new products while 聽聽聽聽聽following Madison-Kipp (MKC) launch procedures.聽
  • Quote estimates for new 聽聽聽聽聽products.聽
  • Responsible for all activity 聽聽聽聽聽associated with assigned machining processes, including but not limited 聽聽聽聽聽to:聽

o Justification and purchase of new equipment聽

o CNC programming聽

o Automation design implementation for machining cells聽

o Project management聽

o Perishable tooling design聽

o Production support聽

o Training hourly staff聽

o Process documentation聽

o PM recommendations聽

  • Improve uptime and reduce 聽聽聽聽聽scrap through Lean Manufacturing techniques.聽
  • Implement change requests as 聽聽聽聽聽required to support customer requests or internal changes.聽
  • Follow all MKC and IATF 聽聽聽聽聽16949:2016 procedures.聽
  • Support launch teams in 聽聽聽聽聽development of APQP documents, such as inspection sheets, process flow, 聽聽聽聽聽PFMEA, and control plans.聽
  • Ensure processes are stable 聽聽聽聽聽and meet customer requirements in productivity and quality 聽聽聽聽聽performance.聽
  • Work with outside vendors to 聽聽聽聽聽procure machinery or tooling as required.聽

WORKING CONDITIONS聽

Heavy Manufacturing Environment. MKC houses different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. 聽These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. 聽The noise level in the work environment is moderate to noisy. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection. 聽


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. 聽The employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. 聽The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to regularly walk throughout all the manufacturing facilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis.

路 BS in manufacturing engineering or similar degree聽

路 Three to eight years of engineering experience in a machining manufacturing environment, or ten years relevant work experience.聽


LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.聽

JOB SKILLS

路 Basic Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new software quickly.聽

路 CAD-CAM experience (Auto-CAD, Solidworks/Spinfire, MasterCam).聽

路 Excellent understanding of GD&T.聽

路 Proficient in Tooling, Multi-Axis Machining, Turning and Machining Centers, Vertical and Horizontal CNC鈥檚, Fixturing Design.聽

路 Accurate at estimating cycle times for quoting purposes.聽

路 Problem solving skills.聽

路 Project management skills.聽

路 Experience with high-volume machining and robotics.聽
