Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: Emanuel County Hospital Authority - Swainsboro, GA, Position Type: PRN , Education Level: Not Specified, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Shift: NIGHT SHIFT 7P, Job Category: Other, Under the general direction of the Director of Security, the security officer is responsible for monitoring all areas of EMC hospital, Clinics and Nursing Home in order to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees. Monitors parking facilities and pedestrian and vehicle traffic in accordance with department and EMC policy.  The security officer is an employee of Emanuel Medical Center and is expected to follow the policies and procedures of the facility.  The Security Office answers to the Director of Security.Qualifications: Minimal Qualifications:  Education: A high school diploma or GEDLicense: None requiredExperience: Prior security and training experience is desired  Physical Demands Must be able to work standing for long periods of time. Must be able to utilize a computer keyboard.    Must be able to read correspondence related to position.  Must be able to lift (75) pounds.  Must be able to carry on conversations on the telephone, and in person, with patients, families and visitors. Has a moderate exposure to bloodborne pathogens Mental Demands Discuss EMC policy and procedures with a wide variety of persons.   Deal with hostile attitudes and persons uneducated in the procedures of health care. Deal with persons who have lost loved ones.  These situations may place the security officer in a stressful situation. Balance a sense of compassion with the security needs of EMC.
