Our Syracuse law firm client has been representing businesses and individuals in Central New York for over 100 years.  Offering a diverse variety of practice areas, their office is in the heart of downtown Syracuse near the courthouse, and many places of interest within walking distance. 

 

We are seeking an ambitious and entrepreneurial attorney to work on sophisticated litigation matters while developing a long-term career and taking ownership of cases from inception through resolution. For the right candidate, this role offers a clear pathway toward increased leadership responsibilities and future partnership consideration.   ** As part of our hiring process, candidates will receive an email to complete a brief online assessment via our screening partner, Eximius.**

 

This position can work on a hybrid schedule but must be in office 2-3 days per week.

 

Responsibilities

  • Handle a broad range of real estate litigation matters, including commercial and residential property disputes, contract disputes, easement and boundary issues, landlord-tenant litigation, title disputes and quiet title actions, construction-related litigation, and foreclosure and creditor matters.
  • Develop and execute case strategy in collaboration with senior attorneys.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and discovery documents.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including electronic discovery.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences in New York State and federal courts.
  • Counsel clients through complex legal and business issues.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Work collaboratively across multiple practice areas to provide comprehensive solutions.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate from ABA-accredited law school
  • 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably involving real estate matters.
  • Ability to independently manage matters from inception through conclusion.Admission to the New York State Bar (Federal Court admission preferred).
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A self-motivated professional with sound judgment, initiative, and a commitment to excellent client service.
