This full-time summer internship provides a unique opportunity to help advance the Environmental Improvement Program’s South King & Port Communities Fund. Interns will gain hands-on experience in strategic program coordination, stakeholder engagement & storytelling, and project management—supporting planning and implementation of community-driven environmental initiatives that strengthen partnerships and deliver measurable impact across South King County and near Port communities.
- Assist with Strategic Planning – Support program team in developing timelines, milestones, presentations, and deliverables for funded community projects.
- Participate in Stakeholder Engagement – Help organize meetings, outreach activities, and communications with community partners, local governments, and port-related organizations.
- Research and Continuous Improvement – Research environmental strategies, community needs, and best practices, then turn findings into actionable recommendations. Share insights, gather feedback, and refine approaches to keep initiatives responsive and effective.
- Support Contract Management – Assist in tracking contract management, which includes reviewing budgets, reporting documentation, and ensuring compliance with contract guidelines and deliverables.
- Program Event and Workshop Logistics – Help plan and execute community workshops, site visits, and public engagement events.
- Communications and Outreach – Contribute to newsletters, materials, and other outreach channels that highlight program impact and community benefits.
- A student – You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or a recent graduate (< 1 year ago) in a degree program.
