As a Health and Wellbeing Coach, you will be expected to serve and build relationships by connecting with members who struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You will guide and direct all fitness enthusiasts, regardless of fitness level, through YMCA programs. If hired, you will be expected to treat every participant fairly and equally regardless of circumstances and abilities, making each feel good about themselves while creating an encouraging and fun environment.
Key Responsibilities:聽
- Deliver equipment orientations
- Teach and demonstrate proper form and technique
- Assist with personalized workout routines
- Ensure established safety guidelines are followed

- You have a Bachelor鈥檚 degree聽or聽two years of related knowledge and experience (preferred).
- You have knowledge of basic health and fitness principles and components, exercise prescriptions, and strength training machines.
- You are able to set an excellent example in health, fitness, and member service.
- You have experience coaching and/or teaching group exercise classes (preferred).
- You have YMCA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning and/or Foundations of Group Exercise certification or equivalent (such as ACE, ACSM, or AFAA) certifications (preferred).
- You have a positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations.
- You can lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- You have current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications (preferred).
- Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
- Able to complete Child Abuse Prevention training on the first day of employment and other online or in-person training as required.
Wage:聽$17.13 to $17.16 per hour, depending on qualifications聽

Key Responsibilities
| 路Deliver equipment orientations, and assist members with personalized workout routines, utilizing already developed systems. 路Maintain member relations through follow-up systems in order to achieve their fitness goals. 路Teach and demonstrate proper form and technique using current safety guidelines. 路Provide FitPath orientations to members of all fitness levels. 路Understand and actively practice our commitment to the Health Seeker by serving, building relationships, and connecting with members who struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle. 路Treat every participant fairly and equally regardless of circumstances and abilities, making each feel good about themselves while creating an encouraging and fun environment. 路Accentuate positive attributes nurturing the whole; physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of each member. 路Meet performance measurement by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission. 路Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events. 路Cleaning and sanitation protocols will be required of all staff. 路Staff will be responsible for frequent touchpoint cleaning and sanitizing in specific areas. 路Staff are expected to adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of PPE. 路Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment. 路Other duties as assigned. |

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
| 路Minimum of 18 years of age or older. 路One to two years related experience in teaching group exercise classes preferred. 路Bachelor's degree and/or two years related knowledge and experience preferred. 路YMCA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning and/or Foundations of Group Exercise certification or equivalent, such as ACE, ACSM, or AFAA certifications. 路Knowledge of basic health and fitness principles and components, exercise prescription and strength training machines. 路Be able to set an excellent example in health, fitness and member service. 路General computer skills helpful. 路Positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations. 路Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications. 路Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day. Complete other online and in-person training as required. |
