Laboratory Assistant

Job Details: Job Location: Tampa FL - Tampa, FL, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $19.00 - $19.00Hourly, EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Assistant in Tampa, FL.  This is support position for the laboratory manager and the analysts. It will oversee preparing, shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS systemReview paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctnessQuality control of samples to ensure sample integrityTransfer samples based on priority to appropriate custody locations Coordinate and perform sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administrationGenerate reports, invoices, and enter data produced by analysts into the computer system for the production of the final, client ready reportEnsure the final report is prepared and that the results are reported to the client in a timely mannerAssist with internal and external client questions via phone, e-mail, and in personAct as a liaison between clients and laboratory staffPrepare environmental samples prior to analysis Support all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposalClean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory  equipment as neededOther responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager Qualifications: Requirements:High school diploma or GED equivalent Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipSome laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus Experience in administration, data entry, and customer service Proficient in MS Office Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clienteleAbility to work in a high volume environment Ability to stand and sit for various lengths of timeAbility to lift up to 25lbs. Effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistanceAvailable Shift: Position is full-time Tuesday to Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Training Schedule to start will be Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Tampla, FL are encouraged to apply. EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account. The pay range for this position is $19.00 per hour. To find out more about EMSL Analytical, Inc. please visit our website at: www.emsl.com EOE including Veterans and Disabled
