We’relooking for an experienced Dog Groomer / Spa Manager to lead ourSouth Tampa location. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who isan accomplished groomer, confident managing a team, and passionate aboutcreating an exceptional experience for both dogs and their people.

The Role
Asthe Dog Groomer / Spa Manager, you will be responsible forboth hands-on grooming and the day-to-day leadership of the spa. You willset the standard for grooming quality, humane handling, cleanliness, clientexperience, and team culture.
You’llwork alongside our grooming and front-of-house teams to ensure the spa operatessmoothly, efficiently, and in a way that reflects the Onyva standard.
WhatYou’ll Do
Lead the Team
- Lead, mentor, and support our grooming and spa team.
- Create a calm, collaborative, respectful workplace where team members feel valued and empowered.
- Help train and develop stylists while maintaining consistent grooming standards.
- Lead by example and set the tone for a positive, dog-centered environment.
Groom & Style
- Perform high-quality full-service grooming and styling according to breed standards and client preferences.
- Bathe, condition, dry, de-mat, de-shed, and style dogs using products and techniques appropriate for their skin and coat.
- Perform nail trims, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, paw, sanitary, and face trims.
- Safely monitor and handle every dog throughout the grooming process.
- Recognize and communicate any health, skin, coat, or behavioral concerns to the appropriate team member or pet parent.
Oversee Daily Spa Operations
- Help ensure the spa runs efficiently and appointments stay on schedule.
- Maintain Onyva’s high standards for cleanliness, organization, sanitation, and overall presentation.
- Ensure grooming tools and equipment are properly maintained and used safely.
- Monitor workflow and proactively address operational needs throughout the day.
- Uphold all Onyva policies, procedures, grooming standards, and safety protocols.
Create an Exceptional Client Experience
- Build trusting relationships with clients and educate them about their dog’s grooming, coat, and care needs.
- Communicate professionally and confidently with pet parents.
- Ensure every dog and client receives a warm, thoughtful, and consistent Onyva experience.
- Handle questions or concerns with professionalism, empathy, and good judgment.
What Makes You a Great Fit
We’relooking for someone who brings both grooming expertise and naturalleadership.
- Experienced Groomer: You have 3+ years professional grooming experience and are confident performing full-service grooms on a variety of breeds, coat types, and sizes.
- Natural Leader: You enjoy mentoring others, setting standards, and helping a team succeed.
- Calm & Compassionate: You understand that every dog is different and approach grooming with patience, empathy, and respect.
- Organized & Proactive: You can manage competing priorities while keeping the day moving smoothly.

- Professional Communicator: You are comfortable communicating with both team members and clients and can handle challenging situations with confidence and kindness.

- Dog Person: Most importantly, you genuinely love dogs and believe they deserve to be treated with dignity.
Priorprofessional grooming experience is required. Leadership or managementexperience is strongly preferred.
