The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Tampa

• AdventHealth Tampa, a faith-based not-for-profit 626-bed tertiary-level acute care hospital located in the uptown district of Tampa, Florida, specializes in advanced cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience and neurology, digestive health, orthopedics, women’s services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine and general surgery including minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures. GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year.

The role you’ll contribute:

Oversees clinical outcomes for the cardiovascular service line for the West Florida Region. Responsible for ensuring system-wide improvement strategies, for nationally public-reported cardiovascular measures, meet both national and corporate (AH) goals and for apprising senior leadership, including the Pepin Heart Institute Medical Director of performance. Responsible for collaborating with senior leadership, program medical directors, elected leaders of the medical staff and cardiovascular nurse leaders to set priorities and develop improvement strategies for the various national cardiovascular registries and publicly reported cardiovascular measures. Leads multidisciplinary teams in the assessment and implementation of cardiovascular initiatives that improve patient outcomes and/or performance measures for the cardiovascular service line. Directs the data collection of critical measures in order to provide overall program outcomes and physician-level outcomes that drive accountability for system-wide cardiovascular quality priorities. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

• Educates abstractors on surgical procedures and disease states covered in each cardiovascular database, providing supplemental education as needed.
• Maintains a knowledge base on relevant cardiovascular diseases, surgical procedures, and databases by reading new literature and attending conferences.
• Collaborates with senior leadership to set priorities and develop improvement strategies for various national cardiovascular registries and publicly reported cardiovascular measures.
• Provides data management support by utilizing multiple data registries to support cardiovascular programs.
• Manages expenses and FTEs within the Cardiovascular Outcomes Department per the annual budget.
• Directs identification, collection, analysis, and reporting of overall cardiovascular outcomes and physician-specific results to drive accountability for system-wide cardiovascular quality priorities.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor's of Nursing Required
• 0+ Work Experience Required
• Registered Nurse (RN) Current license of Registered Nurse in Florida or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement. Required
