Work Experience and Additional Information

One year of instrument technician experience in a hospital sterile processing department or surgery
center setting.

Key Accountabilities
• Inspects, sorts, preps and assembles instrument sets, specialty priority trays, surgical case carts, gather soiled case carts from service area, scans equipment for priority items for turn around uses to maintain service area functional and patient-ready
• Coordinate work allowing instrumentation, equipment and carts to flow through decontamination processes easily which includes sorting, inspection to hand washes items correctly recognizing specialty instrumentation requiring more detailed cleaning due to lumens, etc.
• Inventories and maintains adequate levels of all instrumentation utilized, through instrumentation tracking software and report to records any missing or damaged instrumentation/equipment to provide the highest quality of clinical outcomes
• Maintain and manage Inventories of all surgical/instrumentation, sterilizer loads and procedural trays to  ensure adequate levels of all supplies utilized.
• Safely and efficiently operating all sterilization and decontamination equipment in accordance with departmental policy and procedures, infection control standards and state and federal regulations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
• Records and maintains required sterilization records under the supervision of the Clinic Manager to ensure an accurate and complete record
• Participates in cross training for new Surgical Instrumentation or Equipment to keep workflow efficient and standardized.
• Maintains overall patient experience and safety, following all emergency clinical policies and protocols, to allow for optimal experience of care
