Job Summary

Repairs damaged body parts of heavy-duty vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards. Servicing dedicated brands of Freightliner and Western Star trucks. 

Essential Duties 

  • Examine damage heavy and medium-duty trucks
  • Document all repairs and pertinent information to the work performed and track job time on in-house business system(s) via a repair order
  • Prepare and repair vehicle per estimate according to manufacturer standards
  • De-trim, disassemble and repair vehicle with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Assist other Technicians in more difficult and complex maintenance and repair tasks if needed
  • Maintain and enhance mechanical knowledge and stay current on required company training
  • Occasional periods of lifting and carrying supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, security, and quality management
  • Recognize and report all accidents and hazardous conditions
  • Promote workplace safety procedures
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility 
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned


Qualifications 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working on heavy/medium duty trucks
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment utilized to in heavy truck repair
  • Possess work-related hand tools (not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools)
  • A neat and organized approach to work & reporting
  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to meet attendance requirement
  • Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing or walking
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
  • Must pass a respirator fit test
