We are recruiting for a senior level Systems Engineer to support a heavy travel schedule deploying mission-critical solutions.  The Systems Engineer will work directly with customers and lead engineering efforts working with a small team for design, integration, and deployment. Qualified candidates will have expertise supporting a lead role in technical execution ranging from system design through to sustainment. This position is a direct hire to our client offering competitive W2 salary and benefits. 

Travel: Up to 75% travel CONUS and OCONUS
Security: Current DoD clearance is required for consideration

Role and responsibilities include:

• Support field deployment and technical execution for end to end network and compute systems
• Provide hands-on architecture and design expertise including serving as technical authority
• Lead system integration, validation, and field deployment activities
• Serve as primary technical interface to customers and stakeholders
• Lead small engineering teams and drive technical standards
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure mission success

Requirements include:

• U.S. citizen, no dual citizenship
• Current security clearance (secret at a minimum)
• Availability to support  extensive CONUS and OCONUS travel 
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; equivalent years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
• Current CCNA or higher
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering efforts for high profile complex technical environments
• 10-15 years of systems engineering experience including design and architecture level responsibilities
  • Expertise with the following technologies: 
  • Root cause analysis and issue resolution
  • Cisco networking including switching, routing, OSPF, GBP
  • VMware ESXi
  • Linux system administration including CLI, networking, and multi-NIC configuration
  • Kubernetes in production environments
  • IPv6, VPN, VRF, and PKI implementation
  • Space, Weight, and Power (SWaP) analysis for integrated systems
• Ability to interact with customer and stakeholders including technical and non-technical team members
• Availability to support CONUS and OCONUS travel (50-75%)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage schedules and workloads
• Ablity to convey technical information to non-technical team members
