Tableau Specialist

Location: Perungudi, Chennai (Hybrid) - 3 Days a week at Office

Shift Time: 10.00AM - 7.00PM IST

About the role: The ideal candidate is a strongTableau practitioner who can bring structure and rigor to the migration,ensuring business reporting continuity throughout the transition. This is anexcellent opportunity for a self-starter who can onboard quickly, deliverindependently, and make a meaningful contribution within a defined timeline.

•  Lead and executethe migration of existing Power BI dashboards and reports to Tableau, ensuringfunctional and visual parity

•  Audit and documentcurrent Power BI assets — reports, datasets, and data sources — to create astructured migration plan

•  Validate migrateddashboards against source reports for data accuracy and consistency

•  Identifyopportunities to enhance and optimize reports during the migration rather thana like-for-like lift-and-shift

•  Write and optimizecomplex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiplesources

•  Optimize dashboardperformance through efficient data modeling, extract strategies, and TableauServer/Cloud management

•  Follow andcontribute to Tableau development best practices, standards, and governancewithin the BI team

•  Document alldeliverables thoroughly — including migration mapping, Tableau standards, anddashboard logic — to ensure seamless handover at the end of the engagement

•  Support upskillingof internal BI team members on Tableau during the transition period

•  4–7 years ofhands-on experience with Tableau

•  4–7 years of strongSQL proficiency – writing complex queries, joins, subqueries, CTEs, windowfunctions

•  Proven experiencebuilding production-grade dashboards consumed by senior stakeholders

•  Solid understandingof data visualization principles and storytelling with data

•  Experience workingwith relational databases and cloud data warehouses

•  Ability to ramp upquickly with minimal hand holding in a fast-paced environment

•  Strongcommunication skills to interact with both technical and non-technicalstakeholders

•  Prior contract orproject-based work experience is a plus

•  Familiarity withPower BI (DAX, Power Query) and experience in BI tool migration projects is aplus

•  Experience withTableau Prep for data preparation and blending

•  Tableau DesktopSpecialist or Tableau Certified Data Analyst certification
