Junior Web Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Web Specialist -Intermediate to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance ofenterprise-level web and intranet solutions. The successful candidate will workclosely with stakeholders, technical teams, and project resources to design,implement, and maintain modern, user-centric web platforms while ensuringaccessibility, usability, and compliance with applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

Scope of Work

• Develop and enhance public-facing and internal web solutions, including web components and graphics.
  
• Collaborate with stakeholders, technical teams, and project resources to implement user-centric web platforms.
  
• Develop, update, analyze, and edit website content and functionality.
  
• Develop content strategies and support content governance.
  
• Ensure websites comply with organizational and accessibility standards.
  
• Document best practices for ongoing website maintenance.
  
• Translate UX/UI specifications, wireframes, and design requirements into functional web components.
  

Assignment Deliverables

• Develop website components and custom templates based on UX/UI specifications.
  
• Create website graphics and navigational components.
  
• Research and integrate web plugins to meet design requirements.
  
• Implement websites using WordPress content management systems across production and staging environments.
  
• Develop custom code using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  
• Ensure accessibility and usability requirements are met.
  
• Develop responsive web experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  
• Migrate content from existing platforms to new environments.
  
• Create maintenance documentation for IT teams.
  
• Develop website style guides and content update standards.
  
• Create website maintenance process documentation.
  
• Train technical and business users on website maintenance procedures as required.
  

Mandatory Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience.
  
• Experience in analysis, development, design, testing, and implementation of enterprise websites.
  

Desired Skills & Experience

Web Development

• Experience developing enterprise websites throughout the full project lifecycle.
  
• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, XML, JavaScript, PHP, and modern JavaScript frameworks including Node.js, React, Vue, and Angular.
  
• Experience implementing responsive website design techniques.
  
• Experience migrating websites across technology platforms.
  
• Familiarity with LAMP stack environments.
  
• Experience with web hosting technologies and related configurations.
  
• Experience implementing cloud-based web solutions.
  

Open Source & CMS Technologies

• Experience with Linux, WordPress, WordPress Plugins, Drupal, Git, Apache, Solr, and Elasticsearch.
  
• Experience with content management systems and related web technologies.
  

Accessibility & Compliance

• Experience conducting accessibility testing.
  
• Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards (or higher).
  
• Knowledge of accessibility regulations and standards.
  
• Experience creating accessible content across multiple formats.
  

UX/UI & Design

• Experience working with UX/UI specifications and interface design.
  
• Knowledge of responsive web design best practices.
  
• Experience using design tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Zeplin, and OmniGraffle.
  
• Experience designing websites for multiple audiences and languages.
  
• Knowledge of usability testing methodologies.
  
• Ensure consistency in style, branding elements, and user experience.
  

Information Architecture & Content Strategy

• Experience creating information architecture for websites.
  
• Experience developing metadata structures and templates.
  
• Experience producing digital content including presentations, graphics, videos, blogs, animations, and social media assets.
  
• Experience conducting content inventories and mapping exercises.
  

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Knowledge of modern web technologies, cloud architectures, APIs, and open-source platforms.
  
• Experience developing technical specifications, testing frameworks, deployment practices, and documentation.
  
• Experience assessing system performance and recommending architectural improvements.
  
• Experience applying web security standards and industry best practices.
  
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
