Description

SUMMARY

Performs all duties, but not limited to the Express Lube Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

Performs Express maintenance, MPI inspections, and other related services.

Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.

Replaces oil and air filters.

Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary.

Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.

Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants.

Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.

Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.

Documents all work performed on the repair order.

Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.

Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins related to immediate job.

Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notify service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.

Keeps shop area neat and clean, mandatory cleaning and mopping of stall at end of each shift.

Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.

Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.

Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.

Immediately report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees, or customers.

Comply with all company policies as required. i.e.: Meal and rest period policy, timekeeping, safeguarding of customer information, etc. Please refer to the Employee Handbook for further detail.

Complete all required HR training videos.

Complete all required certification courses respective to position.

Maintain a valid driver’s license and immediately inform management of any changes in its status.

Maintain a professional appearance, along with a high level of personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance. See Employee Handbook for more details.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • No prior experience or training.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Manufacturer Training

Valid Driver's License, with insurable driving record is a must.
