You will have opportunities to develop your clinical skills, support clients and families, participate in treatment planning, complete documentation, and learn about behavioral health services.

What You'll Do

As a Counselor Intern, you will work under supervision to support clients and families while developing practical clinical and professional skills.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Assist with client services and intake assessments by working with clients and family members, identifying needs, and helping determine appropriate services and resources.
• Support treatment and clinical documentation by assisting with therapeutic interventions, documenting treatment goals and progress, maintaining client records, and collaborating with supervisors and treatment team members.
• Assist with scheduling, data entry, documentation, and records management.
• Participate in case consultations and team meetings.
• Support quality assurance activities, audits, compliance monitoring, and special projects.
• Assist with community outreach, program development, and resource-building efforts.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in a mental health field, such as Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related discipline
• Seeking a practicum or internship placement
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Computer skills and familiarity with relevant software
• Ability to manage emotional situations calmly and professionally
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and organizational policies
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, supervisors, and team members

Physical & Work Environment

The position may require sitting at a desk or meeting table, reaching, lifting, bending, standing, stooping, twisting, and climbing stairs. The work environment consists of modern, well-lit office facilities with multiple levels and elevator access.

Interns must follow applicable safety and security procedures, including requirements related to bloodborne pathogens, HIPAA, Right-to-Know, fire and safety procedures, and other organizational policies.
