Summary

The Operations Manager plays a crucial leadership role in our organization and reports directly to the Director of OperationsĀ and willĀ be responsible forĀ ensuring the safe and effective operationĀ ofĀ VentureĀ Global’sĀ production unitsĀ through daily operations and maintenance activities.Ā This role demands collaboration with otherĀ supervisors,Ā managers, andĀ directors within the Operations and Maintenance departments toĀ optimizeĀ LNG production at the facility.Ā Ā 

General Description Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Operations in executing strategicĀ objectivesĀ and managing variousĀ operations programs and initiatives to achieve the organization's goals.Ā 

  • AssistĀ superintendents with tactical activities, including operational and personnel management tasks as well as other functions as directed.Ā 

  • Foster collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, including staff, community partners, and funding agencies.Ā 

  • Develop and implement processes and structures in alignment with the evolvingĀ operations framework.Ā 

  • Promote and drive a strong safety culture across the team, ensuring operational ownership, accountability, and discipline.Ā 

  • Formulate policies, set departmentalĀ objectives, and evaluate program outcomes.Ā 

  • Lead special projects andĀ facilitateĀ staff development initiatives.Ā 

  • Represent the organization at community events and meetings.Ā 

  • OperationalĀ efficiency: Overseeing andĀ optimizingĀ all aspects of the LNG process, from natural gas intake to LNG loading and shipping.Ā 

  • Ensuring adherence to strict safety protocols and regulations, including process safety and emergency response procedures. Heavily involved in the management of programs includingĀ carĀ seals,Ā bypassesĀ andĀ managementĀ ofĀ change. Provides leadership inĀ emergencyĀ situations asĀ required.Ā 

  • Managing and mentoring a team of process operators, technicians, and other personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.Ā 

  • IdentifyingĀ and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall plant performance. Ensures monthly and annual operating plans, as defined byĀ operationalĀ KPIsĀ are achieved by the team.Ā 

  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards,Ā maintainingĀ accurateĀ records, and preparing reports asĀ required.Ā 

  • Supporting the development of and managing the operational budget for the LNG plant, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.Ā 

  • QuicklyĀ identifyingĀ and resolving operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations.Ā 

  • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including management, regulatory agencies, and customers.  

  • Manage operational continuity and minimize downtime during periods of planned and unplanned maintenance activities.Ā

  • Ability to competently act asĀ shiftĀ supervisor and/orĀ superintendent with knowledge and skills toĀ operateĀ the board ifĀ deemedĀ necessary.Ā 

  • High levelĀ of HSE knowledgeĀ 

  • Demonstrated to be a participative leader that offers opinion and directionĀ 

Required experience

  • Extensive experience in LNG or other petrochemical operations, with a strong understanding of process control, safety, and regulatory requirements.Ā 

  • Experience in operations of CCGTs, preferably with GE 7EA and A200 STG configurations.  Additional CC configurations and Air-Cooled Condensers (ACCs) experienceĀ alsoĀ a plus. Commissioning, startup and operations inĀ oil &Ā gas, petrochemical, orĀ independentĀ powerĀ producer (IPP) facility along with internal electrical distribution systems.Ā 

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, or related field)Ā andĀ five (5)+Ā yearsĀ industry related operations experience orĀ ten (10)+Ā yearsĀ industry related operations experience.Ā Ā 

Licensing & Certifications

  • MustĀ maintainĀ a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card inĀ good standing status.Ā 

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing.

  • JobĀ is performed in an industrial plant environment.Ā 

  • Limited travel and temporary assignmentĀ requiredĀ as business conditions dictate.Ā 

  • Subject to drug & alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Venture Global LNG.Ā 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, work at height above ground on stairs and catwalks, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, smell, type and write.  

  • Must be able to board a ship via a gangway, climb to the top of a tank (200+ steps), scale vertical steel ladder up to forty feet or more in height and lift and move objects weighting up to 30 pounds.Ā 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors & outdoors, and be exposed to year-roundĀ weather conditions, ocean environment, and noise.Ā ThereĀ areĀ a considerableĀ numberĀ of outdoor activities involved.Ā 

  • Specific vision abilitiesĀ requiredĀ include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depthĀ perception,Ā and the ability to adjust focus.Ā 

  • Required to pass regularly scheduled physical examinations mandated by regulatory authorities.Ā 

  • Required to obtain mandated certification by attendingĀ company-sponsored training in basic first aid, CPR, AED & LNG firefighting.Ā
