What you will be doing:

• Develop and review control-system architecture, flow diagrams, P&IDs, control sequences, and design specifications.
• Develop and review wiring schematics and control-panel layouts.
• Program and integrate PLC and HMI systems.
• Work with industrial control platforms including Siemens, Allen-Bradley, GE, Wago, and similar technologies.
• Perform system functionality testing.
• Create instrument indexes, BOMs, responsibility matrices, and project documentation.
• Conduct I/O checkout and troubleshooting.
• Calibrate instrumentation and tune PID loops.
• Perform equipment start-up and validation.
• Validate programming against control sequences.
• Support equipment installation and commissioning at customer locations.
• Perform risk and hazard analyses.

Experience you will need:

• Bachelor's degree preferred/expected for an Engineer title.
• Electrical Engineering or a related engineering bachelor's degree will be considered.
• Strong relevant experience in industrial instrumentation, controls, and automation.
• Experience designing, building, and programming PLC-based control systems.
• Strong ladder-logic programming experience.
• Siemens PLC and drive-platform experience strongly required, including Step 7, S120, or similar Siemens technologies.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Ability to interpret and create P&IDs.
• Experience with HMI programming/integration.
• Experience with control panels, instrumentation, I/O checkout, troubleshooting, start-up, and commissioning.
• Engine test-cell instrumentation and controls experience is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and client-facing skills.
