Job DetailsJob Location: Alder Creek Adventure Center - Truckee, CA 96161Salary Range: $18.74 - $25.86 HourlyTahoe Donner Association is looking for fun and personable Cross-Country Ski Instructors to join our Cross-Country Operations! The Cross-Country Ski School Instructor is responsible for teaching adults and children ski classes and assisting with ski school organization, special events, races and other ski area activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, business partners and employees. Work with guests of all ages.  Maintain current knowledge of Tahoe Donner Policies and procedures and teaching of cross-country skiing techniques as applicable to the position. Uphold Tahoe Donner Association’s zero tolerance standard for sexual abuse and molestation by following protocols to protect students from inappropriate behavior by staff, members, guests, public and other students. Maintains an environment of safety, fun and learning. Teach ski and snowshoe lessons, guided tours, programs, clinics. group bookings, and special events as assigned. Assist ski school students with proper ski equipment use and proper ski techniques.  Assist with customer service including providing on snow information, answering questions, encouraging lesson participation, assisting with equipment fitting and pass checking. Assist with rental shop service if requested. Assist with light cleaning duties and snow removal including shoveling and clearing snow from walkways and paths. Minimum intermediate cross-country skiing skills or above appropriate to the level of position. Ability to assess and teach to a level appropriate to an assigned student or group’s abilities, fitness and needs. Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong sense of customer service and safety awareness. Current Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) membership recommended. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications recommended. Ability to work midweek, weekends, holidays is preferred. Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) Level I certification or related experience and/or training required.   These skills and abilities are typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one-year related experience and/or training in the snow sports business, specifically cross-country/Nordic skiing; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.
