We consider athletics to be an extension of our classrooms, as well as an opportunity to influence sports culture for Christ. Qualifications include the ability to connect well with student-athletes, be competent in the sport and maintain strong character and commitment for this level of coaching.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Be able to communicate a Christian-view of athletics
- Know and understand the skills and techniques of the sport
- Can effectively teach and communicate skills and techniques to student athletes
- Must provide current background check
Christian Heritage School: Assistant Coach
Job Summary
The assistant coach supports the head coach by supervising student athletes, managing practice sessions and games. Â The Assistant Coach helps each participating student achieve a higher level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and a desire to honor Christ in all they do.Â
Responsibilities:
- Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be able to communicate this to others
- Be highly motivated and possessing leadership qualities with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Support the Head Coach through collaboration, communication, and commitment
- Display responsibility and accountability
- Model sportsmanship and Christlike character toward players, coaches, referees, and fans
- Be present at all practices, games and while traveling
- Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved
- Plans and schedules with the head coach a regular program of practice in season (including holiday or vacation periods if applicable)
- Assist the head coach in recommending purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate
- Enforces rules and regulations which have been established by the head coach and the athletic department
- Performs such other duties as are consistent with the nature of the position and as may be requested by the head coach
