Electrical Project Engineer – Solar (Commercial & Industrial)

Solar Gain is seeking a driven Electrical Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar projects. If you enjoy being in the field, solving real-world challenges, and working alongside high-performing teams—this role is built for you.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our Operations team, you’ll partner closely with the Electrical Construction Manager and field teams to keep projects running smoothly from pre-construction through commissioning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support planning, scheduling, procurement, and execution of solar projects

  • Manage material orders, inventory, and equipment readiness

  • Coordinate submittals, change orders, and project documentation

  • Conduct site visits to monitor safety, progress, and quality

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and local codes

  • Assist with commissioning, reporting, and project closeout

  • Collaborate with internal teams and interface with customers as needed

This is a safety-sensitive role involving rooftop work, exposure to weather conditions, and proximity to energized electrical systems. Comprehensive training is provided, and strict safety protocols are always followed.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Journeyman Electrician certification

  • 2+ years in a similar role (solar industry experience preferred)

  • Strong understanding of NEC, UBC, and electrical systems

  • Project management and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with computers and technical tools

  • OSHA-10 certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Work Environment

  • Mix of field and office work

  • Travel required (weekly) across Arizona and California

  • Work at heights (rooftops up to 30+ feet)

  • Occasional weekend work depending on project needs
