Summary
  • This role involves a 3-month contract with a local authority, offering a rate of £26.83 per hour via Umbrella. The primary purpose is to facilitate and supervise contact sessions between children and their families in a safe, supportive, and child-focused environment. The postholder will ensure that all supervised contact arrangements comply with court directives, safeguarding policies, and statutory requirements, while maintaining accurate records and promoting positive outcomes for children and families.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise contact sessions between children, parents, family members, and other approved individuals, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all participants.
  • Observe, monitor, and accurately record interactions during contact sessions in an objective and professional manner.
  • Prepare detailed reports and factual observations for use by Social Workers, Courts, and other relevant professionals.
  • Ensure all contact arrangements adhere to court orders, care plans, risk assessments, and statutory guidance.
  • Manage challenging or difficult situations professionally, taking appropriate action where concerns arise.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and promote a positive and child-centred atmosphere during contact sessions.

Requirements:

Essential Experience Required
  • Experience working with children, young people, and families within a social care, education, childcare, youth work, or related setting.
  • Experience observing and recording information accurately and objectively.
  • Experience handling sensitive information confidentially.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour or difficult situations professionally.
Essential Qualifications Required
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training, including safeguarding and health & safety.
Additional Information
  • Working hours: 21 hours per week
  • Enhanced DBS - Children's & Adults' Barred Lists required.
