Summary
- This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority, designed to provide effective legal and administrative support within a busy Housing Litigation Team. The primary focus is on managing rent arrears and warrant application caseloads. The role aims to reduce existing case backlogs, maintain accurate case records, and support fee earners across various housing litigation matters, including disrepair, tenancy, unauthorised occupant, and nuisance cases.
Responsibilities
- Manage a personal caseload of rent arrears and warrant application matters under supervision.
- Assist in reducing existing case backlogs by progressing matters efficiently and proactively.
- Update and maintain case management systems, spreadsheets, and tracking tools to ensure accurate reporting to clients.
- Ensure all case files are maintained in accordance with team procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Provide administrative and legal support to solicitors and fee earners handling housing litigation matters.
Requirements
- Essential Experience Required:
- Significant experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults with complex needs.
- Experience supporting individuals affected by substance misuse and related behavioural issues.
- Experience managing a caseload and delivering one-to-one interventions.
- Significant experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults with complex needs.
- Essential Qualifications Required:
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent, or relevant legal experience.
- CILEX qualification (or working towards qualification) preferred.
- Law degree, Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), LPC, SQE, or equivalent legal qualification.
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent, or relevant legal experience.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 35 hours per week.
- Location: Lambeth Town Hall, 2 Brixton Hill, Brixton, Lambeth, SW2 1RW, United Kingdom.
- Work pattern: 1-2 days in the office, with many staff working from home 5 days a week.
- Bi-weekly schedule.
