Building Manager

We are looking for a hands-on, highly responsive Building Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Gradient Innovation Hub. This role ensures our building is safe, functional, organized, and consistently ready for the members, staff, events, and visitors who use it every day.

The ideal candidate is proactive, practical, service-oriented, and takes pride in creating a high-quality environment.

Core Responsibilities

1. Building Readiness & Maintenance

  • Ensure all areas of the building and exterior remain clean, functional, safe, and ready for use.

  • Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs, building issues, and safety concerns.

  • Manage facilities requests and tickets through resolution.

  • Oversee routine and preventative maintenance schedules and required building inspections.

  • Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs, engaging qualified vendors when appropriate.

  • Coordinate furniture moves and workspace adjustments as needed.

  • Support building safety, security, access, and emergency procedures.

2. Member, Staff & Event Support

  • Respond promptly and professionally to facilities needs raised by members and staff.

  • Support readiness of offices, meeting rooms, and event spaces, including setups and resets as required.

  • Maintain standard meeting room AV and conference hardware and coordinate additional technical support when needed.

  • Help maintain a professional and welcoming environment throughout the hub.

3. Inventory & Supplies

  • Maintain appropriate levels of member, janitorial, and facilities supplies.

  • Coordinate ordering and inventory tracking with vendors and the finance team.

  • Maintain clean and organized storage areas.

  • Manage building keys and access credentials.

  • Maintain oversight of AV and conference room equipment.

4. Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Coordinate recurring building vendors, including janitorial, security, mechanical, and other service providers.

  • Schedule routine maintenance and service visits and track work through completion.

  • Ensure vendor work meets expected standards and address or escalate issues as needed.

  • Coordinate vendor access and support building-related capital projects and repairs in partnership with leadership.
