BIICS, Inc is looking to fill a DatabaseAdministrator position. The position is located in Tallahassee, Florida. Theincumbent must live in Florida and be able to present on-site if needed. Staffare required to be off the week of Christmas and New Year unless services arerequired with prior approval from division leadership.

 

Responsibilities:

  • ​Managing and maintaining all production andnon-production databases related to the Enhanced Field System (EFS)modernization project.
  • Managing and maintaining the (EFS) migrationprocess.
  • Maintaining and updating the DEL website ParentPortal as necessary.
  • Actively participate in meetings or otherproject activities to produce project deliverables.
  • Producing monthly status reports that outlineaccomplishments and planned activities for the following month.
  • Understanding the project requirements andproject goals and using that understanding to produce project deliverables.
  • Communicating project progress and informationto key stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the preparation of information forprogram leadership team, executive steering committee, and project managementas appropriate.
  • Ensuring technical direction and standards fordatabase maintenance, access and security are being followed.
  • Identifying and eliminating obstacles tosolution plans, business goals or implementation. Assist in the development andimplementation of contingency plans.
  • Participating in conference calls with State andFederal stakeholders, as necessary.
  • Researching and maintaining knowledge indatabase administration and possible application to the project/program.


Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience working withvarious database management systems in database design, testing,implementation, maintenance, and administration of multiple platformenvironments. 
  • Experience with performing backup and recoveryon database management systems, configure database parameters, and prototypedesigns against logical data models, defines data repository requirements, datadictionaries and warehousing requirements.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience writing complexefficient queries, views, stored procedures, and user defined functions with MST/SQL.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with MS SQL Serverand SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) utilizing parameters, sub-reports,drill down technologies and subscriptions.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience producingtechnical documentation related to requirements, specifications, traceabilitymatrices, designs, or testing.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience creating andmaintaining reports in Azure Power BI.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing withweb applications.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with AzureDev Ops and Visual Studio .NET.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience administeringcloud database platforms, including Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQLDatabase, and/or Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
  • Expertise in aligning application strategieswith data security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel andVisio. Reviews documents, including requirements documents, testing plans,development plans and architectural plans to ensure that implementation of saiddocuments and plans will result in the system required by the user.
  • Demonstrated experience with large-scaleimplementation projects.
  • Expert knowledge of relational databasemanagement systems and database architecture principles.
  • Strong performance tuning and troubleshootingskills in complex database environments.
  • Experience reducing query response times andimproving application performance through database optimization techniques.
  • Experience optimizing cloud database resourceutilization and supporting cloud cost management initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze complex database environmentsand recommend performance, scalability, availability, and optimizationstrategies.
  • Experience with cloud database platforms,including Azure SQL Database and Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
  • Experience supporting high-volume transactionaland analytical database workloads.
  • Experience with performance engineering anddatabase tuning methodologies.
