JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The College of Agricultural Sciences Department of Animal Science seeks to hire numerous Penn State students and non-students to fill part-time positions at the Dairy Barns.

The selected candidates will assist in a variety of farm duties that may include milking (prepping and milking cows in a double 10 parlor), feeding, watering, cleaning stalls and barns, moving animals, feed and bedding, and assisting with routine animal health care procedures. Some individuals will be trained to operate equipment such as tractors, mowers, and skid steer loaders.

A minimum requirement of the position is the ability to work every other weekend and to have transportation to the farm. Shifts are from 5am-1pm and 1pm-9pm.

 

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
