JOB TITLE Transportation Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The Transportation Assistant’s primary function is to pick up donations for the Rescue Mission’s Food Service Department. Individual is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner displaying courtesy and respect towards others at all times.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Pick up scheduled food donations daily in an efficient and timely manner.
Make sure items in coolers and freezers are rotated and organized.
Maintain documentation for food donations and driving logs.
Perform daily pre-trip inspection and fueling of vehicle.
Assist Food Service with tasks related to special events, as directed.
Abide by all Mission and program and safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
Attend and participate in meetings and trainings as requested by supervisor.
All other duties as requested by your supervisor.

This position requires the ability to lift/transport items weighing 50+ pounds.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent
One year of experience working in a food service environment preferred
Clean & valid NYS Driver’s License
Experience driving a van preferred
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Enthusiastic support of our Mission Statement

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

The tasks described signify many of the physical requirements of this position, based on a Time Weighted Average of an 8-hour work day.

Status/Hours: Part Time, 21 Hours per week, Monday-Wednesday; 6:30am-1:30pm

Pay Rate and Benefits: $17.00-17.50 per hour depending on experience.
