We're looking to immediately hire a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to provide specialized support to K–12 students during the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time opportunity is perfect for an educator who is passionate about promoting communication, accessibility, and academic success for students with hearing differences.

In this role, you will deliver individualized instruction and collaborate with school teams to create meaningful learning experiences that encourage confidence, independence, and student achievement. Your expertise will help ensure every learner has equitable access to educational opportunities in an inclusive school environment.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide specialized instruction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Support the development of communication, language, and academic skills.
  • Adapt instructional materials and learning strategies to meet individual student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to educational planning and IEP implementation.
  • Advocate for accessible, inclusive learning environments that promote student growth.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor's degree or higher, demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, and be committed to supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing. School-based DHH experience is preferred. Applicants must possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement or be eligible for Illinois licensure.
