Job Description:

Oatridge Security Group (OSG) is looking for a full-time Unarmed Security Officer to join its rapidly growing team and serve as both a security presence and concierge at one of our Vancouver, Wa sites. The Unarmed Security Officer is responsible for greeting and assisting visitors at the front desk / lobby and conducting regular foot patrols of the building, parking areas and grounds. Officers must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time and work outside in the elements. The Unarmed Security Officer will be required to challenge individuals to prevent unauthorized access and verbally trespass any violators. The work is performed outdoors and indoors. This position requires individuals that possess self-discipline, de-escalation skills, a good work ethic, punctuality, and a polished, service-first attitude.

Unarmed Security Officers must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug test. Candidates should be well groomed, articulate, dependable, and a team player. The Unarmed Security Officer does not act in the capacity of a law enforcement officer and has no arrest or apprehension powers.

Job Details:

Work Location: Vancouver WA

Pay Rate: $22.00-$23.00 per hour

Schedule: Day 8:30AM-5:30PM, Monday-Friday 

Employment Type: Full-time

Qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior military, civilian, security officer, or customer service/hospitality experience preferred but not required.

Required Skills:

• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language fluently
• Ability to follow written rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training material
• Excellent customer service skills in phone and face to face conversation, with excellent written and spoken command of the English language
• Professional, polished demeanor and appearance

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, Officers must be able to perform each essential duty up to the standards of OSG.

• Serve as the welcoming point of contact for clients, tenants, and visitors, answering phones and directing inquiries.
• Conduct regular foot patrols in all weather conditions to detect and deter security concerns.
• Detect, deter, and report crime, fire, unusual events, and emergencies.
• Follow all company personnel and safety policies, and perform all assigned duties in a safe manner.
• Arrive at work at the designated time in proper uniform with any necessary equipment.
• Carry out general and special orders for assigned post(s).
• Communicate via radio, telephone, and in-person, according to orders.
• Take responsibility for the cleanliness of uniforms and assigned equipment.
• Meet, greet, and interact professionally with clients and the general public.
• Maintain poise and self-control under stress.
• Construct and write clear, concise, accurate, and detailed reports in English.
• Comfortability with turning away trespassers, loiterers, and transients (who might be under the influence of drugs or alcohol) on the clients' property from a safe distance away.
