ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ā Ā 

  • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.Ā 
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Ā 
  • Install and maintain motors, sensors, drives, conveyors, gearboxes, and automated equipment.Ā 
  • Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, PLC interfaces, and motor testers.Ā 
  • Follow GMP, HACCP, and other food safety protocols during all maintenance work.Ā 
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.Ā 
  • Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities using CMMS (e.g., UpKeep, SAP, or other platforms).Ā 
  • Assist in equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects.Ā 
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly and support production needs.Ā 
  • Support cross-functional teams in maintaining high standards of equipment reliability and plant performance.Ā 
  • Participate in safety meetings, training, and audits.Ā

To perform this job successfully, the Electro-Mechanical Technician must be self-motivated, able to problem solve, detail-oriented, and able to stay on task. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   

  • Excellent organization and time management skills.  
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate situations and use independent judgment and initiative in taking appropriate action.  
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.  
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.  
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt well to change.Ā 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under pressure.Ā 

Pay range: $29 - $38/hour

Ā EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Ā Ā 

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational certification or associate degree preferred.Ā 
  • Minimum 3 years of EMT experience in a food manufacturing environment a plus.Ā 
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices (GMP, HACCP, SQF, etc.).Ā 
  • Proven ability to work with 3-phase systems, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and mechanical assemblies.Ā 
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with CMMS platforms.Ā 
  • OSHA safety training or certificationĀ 
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCsĀ 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plusĀ 
  • Lean Manufacturing or TPM experienceĀ
