Part-time Custodian- Recreation Center

The Village of Villa Park is looking for a positive, reliable, detail-loving individual to join us at the Recreation Center and Parks facilities!

What You’ll Do You’ll be the behind-the-scenes hero who helps our spaces shine. Your days might include:

• Keeping our rooms, halls, fitness center, gym, and common areas spotless
• Making our furniture, décor, and artwork sparkle
• Ensuring restrooms and high-touch areas stay clean and safe
• Preparing rooms for programs, events, receptions, and meetings
• Helping maintain outdoor areas, sweeping, clearing walkways, tidying grounds
• Keeping an eye out for maintenance needs and reporting anything unusual
• Using cleaning tools and equipment safely and effectively

Schedule This part-time, non-exempt position offers up to 20 hours per week, primarily on Saturdays and Sundays, with opportunities for additional hours as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• A high school education (or equivalent knowledge)
• Previous custodial experience is great, but we’re also happy to provide training
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong customer service mindset
• Someone who takes safety seriously
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally with assistance) and stay active throughout the shift

You’ll also need to pass a Village-administered medical/physical exam.

Work Environment This role is active and hands-on, perfect for someone who likes to move. You may occasionally work outdoors or around various materials, and protective gear is provided when needed.
