The Production Planner is responsible for planning, preparing, issuing, and controlling production schedules and material requirements to ensure the timely and efficient flow of raw materials, components, and finished goods. The position works cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, Logistics, and Demand Planning to support production requirements and achieve operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules based on manufacturing requirements.
  • Coordinate material requirements to ensure availability of raw materials and components according to production schedules.
  • Monitor work in progress, inventory levels, material availability, and potential production or supply disruptions.
  • Support demand planning activities and ensure alignment between demand, inventory, and production requirements.
  • Prepare, release, and monitor Work Orders and purchase requests based on the Master Production Schedule (MPS), shop load, and inventory requirements.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to support production planning, material requirements, and inventory management.
  • Coordinate equipment, personnel, materials, and services required to meet production goals.
  • Schedule and expedite the movement of materials and components through move orders, stock transfers, and shipping requests.
  • Communicate production status, material shortages, risks, and operational needs to appropriate stakeholders and management.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, Logistics, and Demand Planning.
  • Analyze planning and production information to identify issues and recommend process or system improvements.
  • Support cross-functional projects and assigned operational initiatives.
  • Work independently with general supervision while managing moderately complex assignments and priorities.
  • Provide guidance or assistance to entry-level professionals when required.




Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree completed. 
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Demand Planning, Finance, Business Development, Marketing, Data Analytics, Manufacturing Operations, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree may substitute for experience based on position requirements.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with MRP and ERP systems.
  • Experience working with Work Orders and production/manufacturing requirements.
  • Knowledge of Demand Planning and production scheduling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and achieve production goals.
  • Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English sufficiently to follow SOPs, procedures, instructions, and other business or technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP/MRP platforms.
  • Experience in production planning, materials planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience within the medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of Master Production Scheduling (MPS), inventory requirements, material planning, and manufacturing operations.
  • Willing to work 100% On-site in Villalba, PR.
