Description of Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Technician role requires strong relationships with the operations teams to act as a conduit to effective execution of new orders and implementation of custom customer solutions. This role is based in the corporate headquarters.

In the absence of the Logistics Manager: Director of Pharmacy Operations; Pharmacist in Charge

Scope of Supervision

None

Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician include the following:

Performs accurate dispensing functions that are related to lot assignments, label printing, and supplies.
Performs quality checks prior to pharmacist verification and organizing medications for pharmacist verification.
Ensures all names and addresses are correct on each label and shipment.
Confirms all pending dispenses and shipments at the end of day to ensure all work is completed appropriately.
Orders / maintains an accurate inventory of nursing supplies, medications, shipping supplies, etc.
Assists with inventory management and inventory count.

Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients, providers, and peers.
Work collaboratively with internal staff to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
Additional tasks as required by management.

Qualifications and Preferred Skills

Preferred Pharmacy Technician license with the State Board of Pharmacy (where applicable).
Current, active and in good standing technician license/registration in the state of employment
Previous experience working in a Retail / Specialty Pharmacy / Physician Office / Insurance
Organizational skills are sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.
Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions.
Computer skills that include proficiency with spreadsheets and use of the internet, as well as word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of pharmacy applications.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Data entry skills required.
