Description of Responsibilities


The Pharmacy Technician role requires strong relationships with the operations teams to act as a conduit to effective execution of new orders and implementation of custom customer solutions. This role is based in the corporate headquarters.

In the absence of the Logistics Manager: Director of Pharmacy Operations; Pharmacist in Charge


Scope of Supervision


None
 

Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician include the following:


  • Performs accurate dispensing functions that are related to lot assignments, label printing, and supplies.
  • Performs quality checks prior to pharmacist verification and organizing medications for pharmacist verification.
  • Ensures all names and addresses are correct on each label and shipment.
  • Confirms all pending dispenses and shipments at the end of day to ensure all work is completed appropriately.
  • Orders / maintains an accurate inventory of nursing supplies, medications, shipping supplies, etc.
  • Assists with inventory management and inventory count.
  • Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients, providers, and peers. 
  • Work collaboratively with internal staff to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer. 
  • Additional tasks as required by management.

 

Qualifications and Preferred Skills


  • Preferred Pharmacy Technician license with the State Board of Pharmacy (where applicable).
  • Current, active and in good standing technician license/registration in the state of employment
  • Previous experience working in a Retail / Specialty Pharmacy / Physician Office / Insurance
  • Organizational skills are sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records. 
  • Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions. 
  • Computer skills that include proficiency with spreadsheets and use of the internet, as well as word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail. 
  • Candidates should have a working knowledge of pharmacy applications.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Data entry skills required.
