Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – PRN

Visalia Post Acute
Pay Range: $60.00–$65.00 per hour, based on experience

Visalia Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. The SLP will evaluate and treat residents with communication, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders while helping them achieve their highest possible level of independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents’ speech, language, cognition, voice, and swallowing abilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide therapy for communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
  • Complete and document clinical swallowing evaluations
  • Recommend appropriate diet textures, liquid consistencies, and safety precautions
  • Monitor residents’ progress and modify treatment plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries
  • Educate residents, families, caregivers, and staff on communication and swallowing strategies
  • Collaborate with nursing, dietary, therapy, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in care planning and discharge planning as needed
  • Follow all facility policies and applicable state and federal regulations

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current California Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA preferred
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Previous skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred
  • Experience evaluating and treating swallowing disorders preferred
  • Strong communication, clinical, and documentation skills
