ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Wind RiverĀ CloudĀ PlatformĀ Product ManagementĀ team isĀ part ofĀ theĀ Wind RiverĀ ProductĀ organization.Ā ThisĀ team isĀ responsible forĀ our private cloudĀ product, automation/orchestration and analyticsĀ which is the fastest growing part ofĀ theĀ corporationĀ servingĀ our customersĀ withĀ cloud native intelligent systemsĀ from the far edge toĀ full data centers!Ā The team you willĀ be part ofĀ is pivotal toĀ theĀ expectedĀ growth of the companyĀ over the comingĀ years.Ā

Interface & Collaboration

The role reports directlyĀ toĀ theĀ Vice President of Product ManagementĀ forĀ the Wind River Cloud Platform product team.Ā Success requires hands-on leadership, engaging and enrolling multiple teams across product management, engineering,Ā pre-sales , sales, professional services, marketing,Ā partnersĀ and customersĀ toĀ win new customers in this new and fast pace environment.Ā Your closest collaborators will be your product management teammatesĀ andĀ the global sales team.Ā 

This roleĀ serves asĀ aĀ key customer engagement role for product management.Ā This is a customer facing role toĀ evangelize the Wind RiverĀ Cloud Platform, gather market requirements for existing and new customerĀ opportunities, value prop creation, RFP responseĀ strategy, roadmap presentations,Ā assess and evaluateĀ revenue opportunities andĀ annual revenue plans, and manage customer escalations.

In your daily job you will:

  • Product Management engaging customers & sales teamsĀ responsible forĀ RFP responseĀ strategy, product/portfolio updates, roadmap/commitment communication,Ā feature prioritization,Ā price setting,Ā escalations, etc.
  • Work closely with specific Product LineĀ Managers and the global sales teams to ensure roadmaps and feature requirements are aligned to meet market demand.
  • Customer Requirement discoveryĀ and gathering.
  • Drive customer progress ofĀ product adoption andĀ sales plans
  • Business development, market assessment, ideation and adoption.
  • Formal roadmapĀ communicationĀ to global sales teams and customers.
  • Product CollateralĀ creationĀ andĀ communication. The focus will beĀ ensuring ourĀ productĀ has the appropriate collateralĀ in place and made available to our globalĀ salesĀ teams toĀ aidĀ in the sales and pre-salesĀ activities. Examples would beĀ productĀ descriptions, product presentationsĀ forĀ CxoĀ and deeper dives,Ā and special customer requested presentations,Ā etc.
  • Assessment ofĀ private cloudĀ business sales onĀ a customer byĀ customer level. AssessingĀ revenueĀ targets andĀ understandingĀ progressĀ againstĀ the annual plan.
  • Understand and evangelize theĀ competitive advantageĀ Wind River has over our competition.
  • Create value propositions for specific customer cases
  • Actively engage and support interaction withĀ the ProfessionalĀ Services teams and functionsĀ to develop additional opportunities.
  • Leverage Edge AI capabilitiesĀ to inform product messaging, identify new use cases, and highlight competitive advantages in real-time, on-device intelligence.
  • Collaborate with engineering and data science teams toĀ translate AI and Edge AI capabilities into market-facing benefits, ensuring alignment with customer needs and strategic goals.

ABOUT YOU

KeyĀ skills and competenciesĀ for succeeding in this role are:

  • 10+ years of experienceĀ inĀ enterprise verticalsĀ in product managementĀ driving complex technicalĀ softwareĀ customer engagement.
  • Knowledge of US Government process, requirements and certifications for software compliancy (STIG/SRG, FedRamp, FIP, etc) and ATO (Authority to Operate).
  • Experience inĀ EnterpriseĀ is aĀ must.Ā Understanding the enterprise/ITĀ product procurement model andĀ their business is critical.
  • Experience withĀ AI/ML technologies, preferably including Edge AI, IoT, or embedded systems, is a strong plus.
  • Technical experience withĀ softwareĀ products and platforms forĀ enterprise private cloud use is critical.Ā You must understand private cloudĀ use cases, architectures, feature requirements and customer needsĀ in this enterprise space in order to define & prioritize featuresĀ to beĀ delivered.Ā Experience across Kubernetes, OpenStack,Ā storage and security are a mustĀ in order to determine best solutions forĀ ourĀ customers.Ā 
  • Business Development experience would be highly desirable.
  • Must possess both the business and technicalĀ acumenĀ that enables to drive engagementĀ with differentĀ levels of engagement both internally and externally from working level up to CXO office.
  • Deep understanding of customer business issues, challenges,Ā strategic direction as well asĀ theĀ partner ecosystem relevant to industry solutions and local markets
  • StrongĀ ā€œmake things happenā€ attitude, while having a good time at it.
  • Strong leaderĀ able to cultivate relationshipsĀ with senior management and across functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written,Ā and oral communication skills.
  • BA/BS required inĀ Engineering orĀ Computer Science or related technical degree
  • MS/MBA preferred.
  • Demonstrated credibility with customers, partners and cross-functionalĀ stakeĀ holders.
  • Must reside in the locations listed with ability to work on site

Compensation
The annual base salary range for this role’s listed grade level is currently $165,000 to $206,200 plus a bonus for Colorado, New York, and New Jersey residents, and $185,000 to $222,000 plus a bonus for SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, NYC, and Washington, DC, residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members.
