Eckert Seamans is a full-service national law firm with a strong reputation and history of success that spans more than 65 years. With approximately 300 lawyers across a network of 14 offices, we provide clients with proactive, solution-oriented business and litigation counsel. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Associate for our Washington, D.C. office.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience representing individuals and entities in complex commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts. Candidates should have experience in all facets of litigation, including drafting and arguing motions, preparing briefs and other substantive filings, managing complex case dockets, handling electronic discovery, taking and defending depositions, participating in mediations and arbitrations, and preparing cases for trial. The successful candidate will be able to independently manage matters while working collaboratively with clients and litigation teams.

Qualifications:

  • Four (4) to seven (7)+ years of commercial litigation experience;
  • District of Columbia bar admission required or eligibility to waive in;
  • Excellent academic credentials;
  • Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated experience preparing substantive motions, briefs, and other court filings;
  • Experience managing complex discovery, including electronic discovery;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to independently manage a variety of active matters; and
  • Court, deposition, mediation, and arbitration experience preferred.

In compliance with Washington DC Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this position is $165,000 - $185,000. We note the salary information as a general guideline only, as we will consider various factors to determine the offer for this role, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant work skills and experience, and education.
