Description
The Information Technology Associate (Mid) provides advanced technical support for Navy IT systems, networks, and infrastructure. This role is responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, supporting system administration functions, and ensuring that IT environments operate efficiently, securely, and in compliance with DoD standards.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Support
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and enterprise applicationsÂ
- Support system upgrades, migrations, and performance optimization initiativesÂ
- Manage system configurations and ensure operational continuityÂ
Advanced Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issuesÂ
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutionsÂ
- Support incident management and resolution processesÂ
Network & Infrastructure Operations
- Support management and maintenance of network infrastructure componentsÂ
- Assist in implementing network configurations, monitoring performance, and resolving connectivity issuesÂ
- Contribute to system performance tuning and infrastructure improvementsÂ
Security & Compliance
- Ensure systems adhere to DoD/Navy cybersecurity standards and policiesÂ
- Assist with vulnerability remediation, patch management, and system hardeningÂ
- Support compliance with RMF-related activities and security auditsÂ
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system configurationsÂ
- Provide recommendations for improving system performance and reliabilityÂ
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree + 5 years experience OR 10+ years relevant experienceÂ
- Strong knowledge of:Â
- Systems administrationÂ
- Networking and infrastructureÂ
- IT troubleshooting and diagnosticsÂ
- Preferred certifications:Â
- Security+Â
- Network+Â
- Microsoft or Linux certifications
