About the Role

Be the technical backbone of the nation's most critical civil rights litigation. JLGOV is seeking a Senior Systems Manager to lead on-the-ground technical eDiscovery operations directly supporting the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, fully onsite from our Washington, DC office.

You will run a fast-paced, high-stakes infrastructure ecosystem where real-time engineering collaboration meets federal law enforcement. This is a senior, hands-on technical management role owning RelativityOne workspaces, complex legal data productions, PowerShell systems automation, database infrastructure, storage architecture, and disaster recovery.

*Please note: This is an infrastructure engineering and technical operations management position—not a paralegal, legal assistant, or document-review role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage RelativityOne workspaces, processing, review, analytics, productions, and ARM activities
  • Oversee load-ready, searchable PDF, native-file, metadata, and other complex productions
  • Troubleshoot Relativity Review and Active Learning projects
  • Serve as the technical authority on ESI specifications for attorneys and case teams
  • Support attorneys, case managers, Government personnel, and legal proceedings
  • Supervise data processors, systems analysts, DBAs, help-desk staff, and other technical personnel
  • Manage documentation, training, user support, servers, storage, security, risk, and disaster recovery
  • Create and review complex PowerShell scripts
  • Produce operational and production reports
  • Support extended hours when required by trials, productions, or court deadlines

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of first-line management experience
  • Significant eDiscovery or litigation-support experience
  • Strong knowledge of EDRM and the litigation discovery process
  • Hands-on RelativityOne experience
  • Experience managing complex legal productions
  • Experience supervising technical or litigation-support staff
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with Windows systems, browser-based applications, help desk operations, documentation, and training
  • Undergraduate degree
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOJ Public Trust
  • Availability to work full time onsite in Washington, DC

Candidates without direct eDiscovery, RelativityOne, management, PowerShell, citizenship, and onsite availability will not be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relativity or eDiscovery certification
  • Experience with Relativity aIR
  • Experience with CaseMap, TextMap, or Microsoft Access
  • Trial-support experience
  • Graduate degree in a technical discipline
  • Prior DOJ, federal legal, or law-enforcement support experience

Conversion

Employer-sponsored medical and healthcare benefits are not provided during this period.

The role is structured as a temporary-to-permanent opportunity. Conversion is anticipated after approximately six months but depends on performance, customer approval, security requirements, business need, and the receiving hiring process. Permanent compensation and benefits will be determined at the six-month transition.
