Description

Summary: Responsible for transporting raw materials and products from one place to another according to state laws using commercial trucks.  Perform inspections before and after a trip.  Load and unload raw material and product from the trailer to customer facility. 

Responsibilities & Duties:  

  • Transports loads to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations. 
  • Utilizes E-Log software to comply with state regulations.  
  • Advises management when major repairs are due including when unexpected maintenance arises. 
  • Ensures that loads are properly secured, and tarps or other protective covering is in place as required. 
  • Communicates with customers, vendors and employees regarding potential difficulties, special instructions and informs manager. 
  • Listens and communicates customer feedback to management, and sales representatives. 
  • Handles receipts and other documents associated with delivery and pick-up. Forwards company copies to proper departments in a timely manner. 
  • Obtains customer signature and/or collects payments for services rendered. 
  • Follows safety regulations and company work rules for a safe working environment. 
  • Assists with on-site light duties in the shop such as Material Handler tasks.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: Education generally equivalent to a high school diploma is preferred. Must have a valid class A drivers license and one to three years of driving experience with commercial trucks.

  • Ability to operate industrial equipment such as forklift, side loader and crane. 
  • Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance, keeping their vehicle clean, and obeying traffic laws. 
  • Respect the confidentiality of all company, employees, customer and/or vendor information.
